GMCVO: State of the Voluntary Sector Survey
GMCVO, the Greater Manchester Centre for Voluntary Organisations are again running their ‘State of the Voluntary Sector’ survey for organisations around the Greater Manchester area.
The last time the survey was run in 2013, it revealed some incredible detail about the sector. 15,000 groups contributing almost £2,000,000,000 to the economy and providing over a million volunteering hours in Manchester every week! That is an astonishing acknowledgement of the value of scale of the third sector and it will be interesting to see how the results in 2016 differ.
GMCVO need as many organisations to take part as possible in the survey to get the most valid results that they can. You have until the 27th November but do not wait! Here is the link to the 2016 survey.
The information gleaned from this survey is not just interesting. It informs how GMCVO might promote and address issues in the sector.
At Ladbrook, a deafening theme in voluntary groups has been the cuts to local authority funding at a time of increased service demand. It will be interesting to see how that is reflected in the results.
