Youth Club Insurance

At Ladbrook we have been organising youth group insurance for small and larger groups across the UK.

The nature of youth groups means that from time to time, incidents can occur which might cause the group a financial loss.  We will discuss these risks with you, from children being injured during activities, to the theft of club equipment or even allegations against the management committee.  Our experience means that we can help you arrange the insurance cover that is appropriate for your youth group.

Doodleaid would like to thank Ladbrook for their service, professionalism, speed of service and friendliness.  All staff were very helpful and we would have no hesitation in recommending Ladbrook.

Bev, Doodleaid

Very many thanks for getting the paperwork back to us today.

Sylvia also asked that I send the thanks and appreciation of everyone connected with Mental Health Aberdeen, for the skillful negotiations you have demonstrated – as evidenced by the affordability of our new policy. We shall certainly be recommending your brokerage, but especially the efficiency and friendliness of your team, to other charitable organisations in our area.

I hope you have a great weekend and once again, thank you all so very much.

Bea, Mental Health Aberdeen

We have just finalised our 7th annual insurance renewal through Ladbrook Insurance and are very happy with the service received. The Account Handlers have always striven to offer competitive quotes and answered any queries or given further explanations by email or phone as appropriate and we have found this personal touch not only professional but also very reassuring

Youth Group Insurance

What should my youth group consider?

Every management committee has to make decisions that are in line with the constitution and best interests of their non profit group and youth groups are no different.

However, youth group insurance can help financially protect you from claims bought against the group from a number or risks that are inherent in organising activities with children.

Public liability insurance for youth groups is an absolute essential element of cover.  Although an unpleasant consideration, particular attention should be paid to the ‘abuse’ wording which is part of the public liability cover and whether any specific endorsements or exclusions are included.

Public liability insurance for your youth group will provide financial protection if your group is sued following damage or injury to a member of the public or child during your activities.   It also includes the cost of defending a claim.

Most youth club insurance policies we organise also include an element of employers liability.  Most insurers will insure the youth groups liability to volunteers under an employers liability section.  Of course, if your youth group is large enough to employ someone, even if only on a temporary basis, employers liability is a legal requirement.

Large youth organisations may need to extend cover to include buildings and additional assets.  We can also organise cover for groups with vehicles and discuss the need to protect the management committee with a trustees indemnity policy.

Youth Club Insurance – Other Covers

Many youth groups also organise trips for children and we can discuss the need for travel insurance requirements which can be organised on a group basis.  This might be particularly important if the youth club is organising a trip which may involve exciting outdoor activities, you will want peace of mind that your youth club insurance extends to include these too.

Likewise, any events that your group organises can be fully insured.  If you know of planned events when organising your youth club insurance, it might be possible to incorporate those events into your annual policy, depending on the activities and scale of them.  Larger scale events (and sometimes bonfire night insurance cover) may need to be arranged separately.
